Embodied Alchemy

Embodied Alchemy is an immersive group class to support you to express and release emotions, unwind tension and find your feminine flow.

Descend into your depths and remember what a massive untapped resource the body is.

Who is it for?

Embodied Alchemy is for any women who deeply desires to reconnect with herself, to release the internal burdens and have a safe space to process, re-energise, and align.

If you just set people in motion, they’ll heal themselves.
— Gabrielle Roth

Why do we need it?
In modern day life we are naturally pushed into the hyper-masculine and linear GO energy that society demands from us. Collectively we’ve become less aware of our emotional states, and in this disconnect from our internal sensations we have become separate from our Self.

Disconnected. Disembodied. Disempowered.

It’s time to reconnect with the sensual, radiantly alive and powerful womxn you are.

This is for you if:

  • You feel frustrated, burnt-out, disconnected and dull…and don’t know what to do with it.

  • You aren’t feeling lit up by life, and don’t feel pleasure in the everyday.

  • You binge on food, wine and Netflix. You lose yourself in social media or work, habitually finding ways to ignore those emotions that are brimming under the surface.

  • You want, no you need, to do something for yourself otherwise #midlifecrisis.

  • But you’re hella nervous, don’t know what to expect, and are silently freaking out that you’re going to make a fool of yourself.

Gorgeous one, you are in the right place.

Embodied Alchemy is for every person, of any age and ability, who desires:

  • A space to release stress & tension and process emotions

  • To access bodily wisdom

  • To unwind patterns of contraction and mental loops

  • To unburden her nervous system

  • To get out of her head and return home to your body

  • To reclaim her wildness, her voice, and expression

  • To reconnect with her heart

  • To put self-care at the top of her priorities; and

  • To connect in a safe space with other womxn where she isn’t going to feel like a freak, won’t be judged, and won’t feel like she needs to bring out competitive moves, or fashionable or sexy attire.

Come as you are. MOVE as you are. Find freedom in embracing your raw self.

What Does a class look like?

This is an immersive embodied movement experience.

Less chat, more doing.

We will:

  • Use simple, non-performative approaches to feel more alive and present in your body.

  • Process and identify emotions as your body unwinds and the mind relaxes.

  • Release trauma binds back into flow. Often the sense of calm/nothing is a long running ‘freeze’ response. The embodied alchemy practice gently opens the freeze pattern and allows for the release of underlying emotional and physical holds.

  • Awaken sensual sensation and expand your capacity for pleasure. One of the results of re-sensitising the body is the ability to feel greater well-being and more pleasure in daily life.

After a short introduction we will spend the large part of the hour in solo embodied practice - with the eyes closed. There will be another optional 30 minutes after the class for questions afterwards, providing an opportunity to reflect as well as actively learn more about embodiment, and connect with other students if you desire.

Embodied Alchemy will be guided my me, Jess and will be held online via Zoom.

I’m so excited to share these classes with you, as this practice has been so life-changing for me.

Feminine Embodiment is a practice and a discipline in and of itself. It is not only soothing and healing, but profoundly illuminating.

Im nearly a yes, but I’VE GOT SOME QUESTIONS…

What do I wear?

Something comfortable you can move in. It might be comfy gym, dance or yoga gear, or just loose pants and shirts. Bring a scarf or an eye-mask if you have a tendency to open your eyes

What do we practice on?

We start on hands and knees on a cement floor, so bring a yoga mat, or a thick blanket, or rug to set your space.

Do I have to book?

Places are limited and bookings are essential, please purchase your pass through the online payment system. There are no payments taken at the class.

I have a disability can I still come?

Yes, this is open for all abilities, the practice still ‘works’ whether you can move your body in the full range of motion, or not. The space has disability access.

I’m intersex/gender fluid have intersectional identities, will I be welcome here?

The space is for anyone who identifies as a womxn, and I am committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. There is a sliding scale system that acknowledges the imbalances in society. Black Womxn, Indigenous Womxn, Womxn of Colour and LGBTQIA+ folks all receive a 30% discount for all services.

What is this process based on?

This is a lineage practice that I continue to learn from my teacher and mentor Michaela Boehm, and her Non-Linear Movement Method which is taught around the world. The practice is steeped in classical tantra, as well as cutting edge trauma research, and neuroscience.

I’m feeling pretty anxious…

I hear you. I am absolutely committed to creating a safe and supportive space, which means I work slowly and gently and invite you to let your own body lead. I am not about meeting painful edges again & again, as that causes more harm than good (I learnt the hard way).

Not only will you become part of a beautiful community of embodied womxn, but you will have me available to ask questions and to reach out to as you require.

Are you trauma-informed?

Yes. YES. And I believe that every practitioner in this day and age needs to be. My certification in Embodiment was carefully delivered through a trauma informed lens and have studied cutting edge trauma-research and modalities from the leading experts in the field.

I’m a Mum, can I bring my kids?

I desire to make these spaces as inclusive as possible so if you have a young breastfeeding baby that can’t be separated from you for that 80 minutes of course can bring them with you. However with the desire to ensure this feels safe and nourishing for all the womxn in the room I would ask that arrangements are made for older children.

Will you be available to answer any more questions I have?

Absolutely! I’m here to support you along the way. We’ll hold a Q&A style chat after the class to debrief and share, and I’m always contactable via email if something comes up.
